Congratulations to our November Shining Stars!
Shining Stars are STAR students picked by their teachers for going above and beyond in the classroom.
Mai G. (Age: 9)
Mai has been dancing for 5 years now and studies a wide variety of dance styles. She loves being at PCDC for its fun atmosphere and because she gets to widen her social circle. Her favorite style of dance is Musical Theater, “…I love acting, singing, and dancing, and it’s a combination of all three.” When Mai is not dancing she enjoys swimming and playing outside.
Her advice to all of her fellow students is something we can all agree with, “Don’t try to be like others; just be yourself.”
Torii B. (Age: 12)
Torii is a dedicated dancer and Performance Company member and has been on the team for 5 years now. She is a talented dancer and was recommended as a shining STAR by most all of her teachers. When Torii is not dancing, she enjoys playing tennis and volleyball. She studies a variety of different dance styles and finds it hard to select a favorite, “I love all dance styles and can express myself through all of them.”
Her motivation within the classroom comes from constantly challenging herself. Whether it’s mastering a new step, or forcing herself to be better than she was before. She would like to remind her fellow classmates that “if you like to dance, don’t let other people tell you that you can’t.”
Eloise S. (Age: 14)
Eloise is one of our own Competitive dancers! She started dancing when she was only three years old and hasn’t stopped since. PCDC has given her the opportunity to make so many new friends., “They push me to become a better dancer.” When Eloise is not dancing, she is also a competitive tennis player.
The things that motivate her the most are all of her dance instructors. “I see how talented they are at dance and I want to be like them, but I also see how much they love dance. I think it would be amazing and super lucky to do what you love for a living!”
