My favorite dance I have performed is probably this year’s production, My Generation. The choreography so exciting and fun that I just can’t help but smile and have a great time.
3. Favorite dance memory?
My favorite dance memory is the time I competed my first solo, Lion, for the very first time. I had never felt so powerful and confident while dancing, and the support from my family, teammates, and teachers after I got off the stage made me glow inside.
4. Favorite genre of dance?
My favorite genre of dance is contemporary because there is so much room for innovation, freedom, and interpretation.
5. Finish this sentence: I love dancing because…
I love dancing because it makes me feel whole as a human being.
6. What are you looking forward to the most in finishing out your senior year in dance?
I am most looking forward to competing all of my competition pieces with all of my teammates. I love them all so much and getting the opportunity to perform such amazing pieces with them is incredible.
7. What are your plans after High School?
After high school, I plan to attend college to study biochemistry and spanish. I also hope to continue dancing either in student-run dance clubs, college classes, or as a teacher.
8. What advice would you give to younger dancers?
I would tell them to always remember why they dance and why they love it. It is easy to get lost in the struggles and setbacks, but if you remember why you love to dance those difficulties aren’t as overwhelming.
